The successful candidates should have the following experience and skills:

- Signal processing experience is highly desirable
The following skills, (though not essential), are desirable:
- Experience of software development for hard real time systems
- A practical knowledge of Mercury Computers toolset family
- Practical knowledge of the System Architect tool
- Practical experience of using DOORS
- Familiarity with the use of PVCS Dimensions
Additionally, some knowledge of FPDP and Ethernet communications would be beneficial, as would experience with Linux.
To monitor, assess and produce innovative real-time computing product concepts, demonstrators, standards and specifications, both bespoke and off the-shelf. To evolve from the software requirements a design and test philosophy in order to produce a top level and detailed design that will be used as a baseline for the maintainable software implementation including the prediction of software size and performance. To produce unit and integration test descriptions that incorporate the appropriate test philosophies. To produce fully tested code units in the appropriate software language that fully implement all requirements on the target hardware, using the software detailed design as the baseline. Is likely to be a key individual in major contract or area of activity. May have a supervisory role of a small team of professionally qualified individuals. Professional, financial and business judgement required in role.
Additional Information
The ARTISAN 3D radar signal processor uses a Mercury Computers PowerPC-based multi-processor hardware solution. The Project requires additional software engineers to join the Signal Processor team developing a variety of functionality covering underlying software infrastructure and communications, the built in test capabilities of the signal processor and implementation of radar signal processing algorithm transforms.
The development will span all lifecycle stages from concept and design to implementation, software integration, acceptance test and system integration.
